Invisible neighboring blocks after placement of custom model

Issue description

Hello,

I'm having an issue with a mod i'm upgrading from 1.12.2 to 1.14.4 in the EAP snapshot of Mcreator. I am trying to update StadiumCraft which worked fine in 1.12.2 but in the test environment on 1.14.4 some of the blocks (when placed) make neighboring blocks have transparent textures (see attached screenshot). I've checked both the settings in Mcreator and also Cubic to see if the issue is linked to something I've selected.

Affected models;

  •  Floodlight (All variants)
  •  Iron Girder (All variants)

All other models are fine.

The custom models in version 1.12.2 are absolutely fine, it just seems to be an issue in 1.14.4

Hopefully there is a easy way to fix this.

Best wishes!

Leon

I would suggest you to try fiddling with transparency settings, but it would be optimal if I could get the hands on the workspace to test it myself.

I will upload the workspace here tonight, sorry not had a chance to get on my computer yet.

Best wishes,

Leon

Hi Klemen,

The new snapshot will not let me export the workspace into a sharable file. It just hangs on 'compressing workspace' and does not progress. I have left it for a good 45 minutes and no progress.

Issue

Try running it with mcreator.bat and paste the error log here when you try to do the shareable export.

For the workaround on the actual workspace, try zipping the whole workspace folder and upload it to say Mega and link it here.

Thank you for all your info!

The download is not working for me for some reason, Drive says could not download the file. Coud you try uploading it somewhere else?

The issue is indeed that you selected transparency type SOLID for these elements. This transparency type should only be used for solid blocks (cubes).

I will make it so CUTOUT option will be used in the code when SOLID is selected but transparency checked in 1.14.4 as they changed the logic a bit.

But you can already properly fix this by setting different transparency setting than SOLID for your blocks with custom models.

Thank you for checking this Klemen, I know in the last versions all of the models were set to the same transparency type and seemed to work ok so was a bit puzzled as to why some custom models worked fine (I.e. seats) and the floodlights didn’t.

I will change the transparency settings and see if it works :)

best wishes

Leon
