whenever i try to use a texture for a mob it just doesn't display as it should

Skin texture can't be used for biped models, you were even warned in UI about this when selecting texture.

What texture is used for Biped then? Because last time I tried, zombie/skeleton textures didn't work.

64x32 sized textures. I don't know exactly why this is so. It should be like this: https://imgur.com/eXvlJX5
