Concerns about updating Mcreator

I have just received the prompt asking me to update Mcreator. However, I had an outdated Mcreator earlier this year and then updated, before finding to my utter surprise that I could not make my old mods work. I am worried that updating Mcreator may make my mods untestable, and I always test a mod repeatedly while developing it and a few times before releasing it. Can someone please affirm that updating Mcreator won't make my mods broken?

I don't know how you have your mods made and what kind of procedures you got going on, but none of my mods broke after updating to 2020.5..

also, all of my mods procedures and elements updated too without trouble..

The one thing I did have, was my own fault, I forgot to install the 1.12.2 generator plugin.. quick fix though..

When in doubt though, export a copy of your workspaces to zip files, then update Mcreator and open your existing workspace. If it doesn't work, your exported workspace is a good backup :).

My mods haven't broken, they are still usable.

The only thing is, when updating from 2020.2 to a newer version, for example, most procedures broke but they can be fixed easily. You should still create a backup for it before, just in case.
