Like I said, just create the 'preferences.conf' file (make sure you're in the 'user' directory), and add the line 'ui=legacy'.

You might be able to click on the text saying "gacy GUI" in last section. If it focuses, you managed to select it and click Save changes.

You can also go to MCreator's user directory and open preferences.conf. If there is ui option, change it to ui=legacy and save it. If there is no option, add new line:

ui=legacy

After you do this, launch MCreator and it will start in legacy UI mode.

@#12 @#13 I tried creating the preferences file using Notepad ++ with the EOL settings changed to "Unix/OSX" format (for the linux line ending), but nothing happens. I tried using Wordpad, saving the document out and renaming it preferences and changed the extension to .conf, it's all the same.

Klemen, I see what you're saying, but that post you mentioned wasn't me; whenever I pull up the preferences tab my only option is "remove pylo data."

I looked up a video of someone installing MCreator and I noticed they have a whole bunch of DLL files I do not have, is that significant?

simply shut it down for a while reopen it and try closing al otehr programs mabye you hit a button or there is just not enough space on your computer, and make sure you download thr irght version, and things always retrace your steps or just get a mod to help you thats what works best
