I'm gonna try my best to be as helpful as possible...

There's a website/program called Techne that allows you to make a java file for a model. It's a pretty easy tool to use, and there a lot of great video tutorials out there to help you get the gist of it (gist is a word still right?). Anyways, you can use photoshop, gimp, or MCSKIN3D (which is built into MCreator) to texture the block model you make with Techne.

So...

1. Make the block model in Techne

2. Texture it with Photoshop, Gimp, or MCSKIN3D

3. On the first page of whatever element you want to add (e.g. block, mob etc.) there should be an option to use a java file as the model. Just select the one you made in Techne and there you go.

Hope this helps. Best of wishes!

@#1 Actually as of the 1.8 series of MCreator you can't use Techne for custon block models anymore. They use .json files now, not .java files. This angers me too, but it's all we can do. There's another program built into MCreator you have to use now...

@#1.1 Ah, I didn't realize this, thank you. I haven't made a mod for 1.8 yet, so I was unaware of this, I apologize. It looks like you use BDCraft Cubik instead.

@#1.1.1 Yeah, it's annoying. I was completely comfortable with Techne but now you have to have .json files, not .java. If you find a way to convert .java into .json let me know. :P

@#1.1.1.2 I believe there's a way to do this, but I'm not 100% sure. Google is your best friend here.
