Installing MCreator on a Mac
Thu, 03/03/2016 - 17:18 (edited)

My apologies if this has been asked loads of times before but please could someone help me install MCreator on my mac.

I have downloaded the MCreator software, unzipped it and put it in my Applications directory
I have also installed the JDK version 8 software.

Following the Wiki instructions (https://mcreator.pylo.co/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_MCreator )
I then “cd" to the MCreator directory.
If I then do a “ls" I see that I have the following files and directories: LICENSE.txt MCreator.jar lib res user

Should MCreator be a .jar file or a directory? If a .jar file then the next instruction, chmod 777 MCreator, doesn’t work because I have no file called MCreator. If I manually unpack the .jar file so that I have a directory called MCreator, I am then able to run the chmod command without error but then when I run ./MCreator I get an error saying that it’s a directory.

Many thanks to anyone who can point out what I'm doing wrong.

Catherine
