Textures with Custom Model
Thu, 03/24/2016 - 20:03

I made a custom model in Mr Crayfish's model creator tool that uses three textures. It's an oak barrel with rings around it that uses two textures from the cauldron (dark metal). My problem is, I can import my model into MC Creator but I don't know how to make the model use all of the textures. It prompts me to pick a texture for the red square before I can click 'next' and whatever I choose covers everything by default. I want the rings to use the cauldron textures like they did in Mr Crayfish's tool. If someone can help me understand if/what I'm doing wrong, that would be helpful

For me, on 1.7.10, If using a custom model you have to import a custom texture as well. I dont know about Mr Crayfishs model tool, but the Techne program packaged with mCreator has an "export texturemap" feature. You then save your texture as a .png and load the texture onto your model in Techne, afterwhich you export the .java file. In the first stage of making the block in mCreator, you select a custom render, custom model, then load a custom texture.
