This mod adds in 10 new pickaxes with more to follow in the near future. There will be a description of each pickaxe and their use. This mod is balanced to be what I believe is as best as I can get it and will attempt to maintain the balanced nature of the game by not adding in any really overpowered pickaxes.
Unique material will refer to any material that is not sticks when used in a tool crafting recipe.
The Dirt Pickaxe: The Dirt Pickaxe is simply a pickaxe made out of dirt. It is just about as strong as a wood pickaxe, but with the low durability of 16. It has no special use. It is crafted with three "Dirt" in place of the unique material
The Grass Pickaxe: Like the Dirt Pickaxe, the Grass Pickaxe is a very weak pickaxe with only 10 durability and similar mining speed of the Dirt Pickaxe. It has no special use. It is crafted with three "Tall Grass" (get by mining Tall Grass with shears) in place of the unique material.
The Sand Pickaxe: The Sand Pickaxe is somewhat better than the Dirt and Grass Pickaxes. It has 32 durability and is almost identical to the Wooden Pickaxe in every way. It has no special use. It is crafted with three "Sand" in place of the unique material.
The Gravel Pickaxe: The Gravel Pickaxe is nearly identical to the Stone Pickaxe. It can mine any block that a Stone Pickaxe can mine and at almost the same speed. It has 96 durability (slightly less than stone). It has no special use. It is crafted with three "Gravel" in place of the unique material.
The Flint Pickaxe: The Flint Pickaxe is as strong as the Stone Pickaxe. It has 100 durability. It can light the top of the block that you right click on, on fire at the cost of 1 durability. It is crafted with three "Flint" in place of the unique material.
The Bone Pickaxe: The Bone Pickaxe is as strong as the Iron Pickaxe. It has 200 durability. It does 5 damage to mobs as opposed to the 4 damage that the Iron Pickaxe does. It has no special use. It is crafted with three "Bone" in place of the unique material.
The Coal Pickaxe: The Coal Pickaxe can mine any block that Stone can and mines slightly faster than stone. It has 128 durability. The Coal Pickaxe can be used as fuel and smelts 32 items. This is especially useful since it only costs 3 Coal and 2 sticks to make (Coal smelts 8 items, so the Coal Pickaxe gets 8 more items smelted than the natural 3 Coal). It's not meant to replace the entirety of the use of Coal, but do as you please. It is crafted with three "Coal" in place of the unique material.
The Prismarine Pickaxe: The Prismarine Pickaxe can mine any block that Iron can, but at the same speed of the Coal Pickaxe, which is slightly slower. It has 275 durability. The Prismarine Pickaxe has very high enchantability (higher than gold) so it can be easily modified with great enchantments. It is crafted with three "Prismarine Shard" in place of the unique material.
The Emerald Pickaxe: The Emerald Pickaxe can mine any block that Diamond can, but is slightly faster than Diamond. It has 1,850 durability. The Emerald Pickaxe has a moderately high enchantability, but not as high as gold, so it can be better modified with great enchantments than most tools. It is crafted with three "Emerald" in place of the unique material.
The Orestone Pickaxe: The Orestone Pickaxe can mine any block that Emerald/Diamond can, but is slightly faster than Emerald. It has 2,000 durability. The Orestone Pickaxe has EXTREMELY high enchantability (double that of the Prismarine Pickaxe) so it can be heavily modified with the best enchantments. The Orestone Pickaxe is not crafted through normal means. You must first get one of every ore (it has to be the ore, it can't be the gem or ingot) in the game as of 1.12 (other than Quartz) and put it in the crafting grid as a shapeless recipe (there is no specific pattern to craft the Ore Combine). This will give you 2 Ore Combine blocks which is as it says and is a combination of every ore in the game (other than Quartz). Once you have 3 "Ore Combine" you can use that in place of the unique material to craft the Orestone Pickaxe.

12/27/2018: I am working on adding new pickaxes right now, each major update of the mod will consist of at least 10 new pickaxes.
