MCreator survey - Paid version of MCreator

MCreator Survey - Paid version of MCreator

Based on the results of our first survey on the commercial version of MCreator, we decided to make another one, this time with more specific questions.

We believe that the community is the one that should help us shape the future. MCreator, as is, would stay free, but we would offer a commercial version too, just to clear this up first :) And we won't limit free version in any way that would limit the possibilities of mod making itself and we wouldn't nerf existing features of MCreator.

Each answer will help us decide on how to shape the future of MCreator better

Based on your responses on the first survey, we have decided to make an estimate of how our commercial/paid version would look like. Our current planned features of paid version are (of course they are subject to change based on your recommendations in the survey):

Planned features for a paid version

MCreator software:

  • Commercial usage license for exported mods (mods can be used in commercial purposes such as links, ads and selling them or using on commercial servers)
  • Option to export debranded mods (without "Made with MCreator" in the mod description and links to the website)
  • Option for collaborative work in groups with version control
  • Chat for developer groups
  • Possible option to become part of a beta testing programme

MCreator website:

  • A shorter delay between opening two tickets on our issue tracker
  • Option to disable ads on the website
  • More disk space for mod page files
  • More control over custom modification pages on the community pages
  • Profile badge

Why an annual subscription model?

Our current idea is to go with the annual subscription model. This is because many of these features such as collaborative work and chat require us to host additional servers to make these work. It would not be possible to make this without a subscription model as we can't afford to host these servers indefinitely without at least annual income from the users who use these services. The same goes with more disk space and extended support for such users.

We are looking forward to the results of the survey as we see a paid version of MCreator as an option to get more resources to hire more developers and dedicate more existing development time for MCreator. This way we can fix bugs faster and add more new features.

And stay tuned for next MCreator release, as we have something very big ready for you and we are leaving hints already ;)

The thing is, you can't make a paywall for mods.
In other words, if someone makes a mod, and you NEED to pay for that mod, it is against the EULA..
But the overall idea of this is good, but people should not be able to make money with mods. Yes people should be able to donate to the author, but not behind a ad-wall. I hope you see what I mean.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, but it should be known as well that people will misuse it somehow

Commercial usage is not just selling the mod but also sharing it using for example, or using it on a commercial Minecraft server. Commercial usage of mods is not the only reason / feature that made us decide to think about doing this.

It's fine if you make it a Commercial product, but people that are making a mod with should not put a paywall in front of people that want to play with the mod. Like for example, I want to download a mod from CurseForge, but I need to pay money to download it because the person that made the mod used a Commercial product that he/she paid for. This is against the EULA of Minecraft.
The thing that you want to do is fine, but if people want to earn money (without, etc.) and strait-up put a paywall in front of you, is bad. In the past I had a problem with it, got out of it, but I don't want it to happen again, for anyone

Hope this clears it more up for what I am worried about. The overall idea, is very good, and I like it. But I also see people miss use it as well...

I have an idea to put a new interface for the blocks, the items, the meals, the tools, the armor, and the weapons.
this new interface that I think or want to put in creator, that can decide which blocks, or items, or foods, or tools, or armor, or weapons, to decide which objects have one or some possibilities that is generated, in a chests of a structure or a structure of the minecraft, or that has a possibility or possibilities that is generated, in a structure or a structure of other mods for minecraft, this new interface that I thought, can generate the objects that are generated in the chests of minecraft. minecraft or other mods structures, will be generated in the chests of minecraft structures or other mods, but puende generse generatly the objects that puise that are generated in the chests of the structures of minecraft or other mods

Ok first of all this seems a bit like a bad move, i always hate when a free software moves toward paid access.
I dont think this is a good idea,

"Option to edit and delete own content on the website"

Does this mean we would need to pay in order to edit/update the mods we upload? That would be RIDICULOUS!

You can already edit mods you post. I said we won't nerf ANY feature in the post. This option would be for forum topics and comments, although we will consider if this should be added or not. We had the option to edit own comments in the past and this resulted in a lot of confusions as people edited comments after discussion has started and even used editing as a means of "trolling".

I love how it won't degrade the free version and just add more onto the paid version. This sounds amazing!

Oh! 1.9.0! This mean a MORE Gigantic Update!, You skipped 7 versions?

I have an idea to put an interface to create sounds like a program to create music for jun mod, or create a noise for a mob for the mod.
and because not because they do not do or put a program to make or create models for a model, similar to the Techne program, but updated with more tools to create models and give good animations for the models.

TRO_RaymentCraft V1.1: such requests belong on forums, not here. And we eventually move them to tickets. And most of your requests are planned already, just check forums and our issue tracker.

have an idea for the interface of the creation of the flowers, because they do not put more types of biomes for tires, or because they do not put all types of minecraft biomes and also all the biomes that you created with your mod.
and another interface for the creation of the plant, and what types of block that plant can generate or what type of block this plant can put, but this new interface can be chosen whether or not for your plant. but also I thought another interface like this, but the opposite, example that block types can not generate that plant, what type of block can not put this plant, but this new interface, like the other can be chosen yes or no for your plant.

I have an idea for the interface for the tools, because they do not put more types of tools like a shield, like a scissors, like a spear or a trident like the trident of minecraft 1.13, like fishing rod example if a person wants to make a golden rod or scissors of gold or other material for your fishing rod or scissors.

I thought of a new interface for the armor, because they do not put the interface to fly or glide like an Élitros from minecraft.
because they do not put a new interface for the events, as if a character or a player has not completed the armor of his mod can not give effects to the armor, it is like having an armor that gives you the speed efcto, but the player does not tine the full armor, but it will not have the speed of the armor because it does not have full armor.

I have an idea for the interface for the blocks
because they do not put a new interface for lighting, now the maximum illumination of a block is 1 because it does not increase the number of brightness of the light for the blocks or take the limit of brightness of the light for the blocks.
and because they do not change or improve the sound interface in the step, example if a person wants to put a different sound type of sound to walk for a block.
