How to Make a Backpack from scratch

Heya!

I just started modding with MCreator, and I have a list of projects that I need to have completed by next April. 

First of all, I need to create a backpack mod! Would someone post a walkthrough on how to do it? I've been perusing previous forums but they don't seem very up-to-date.
