Topic category: Help with MCreator software
Hello! I got into modding very recently, and I'm still very new. I feel like I could potentially be missing something obvious here. My problem strikes me as one beginners would experience very often. (I'm also not sure if this is the right place to ask.)
For my mod, I'm planning on including many, many varieties of stone, wood, and ores, but I'm going to use just stone as my example for this. I want it to function the same way that regular cobblestone and blackstone do in vanilla - with both of them being valid recipe ingredients that require cobblestone (furnace, pickaxe, etc.) That would require me to make over 144 recipes just for my cobblestone varieties, just for crafting table, and just for the vanilla substitute recipes.
I'm just wondering if there's a less painful way to do this? I'm dreading the idea going in there by hand and creating an extra recipe for every single item that requires cobblestone, let alone everything else. Thanks. :)
Tag your new elements under common tag group and make recipes for that group. If you tag your custom planks under vanilla planks tag group, all your planks will automatically work with all vanilla recipes, for example.
