Geckolib is currently outdated and does not work with recent MCreator updates, though the developer of Geckolib is trying to update it to 1.16.5 compatibility (as far as I know). Blockbench is a solid option for Minecraft models, and most typical animations can be set from MCreator's built-in animation editor.
