How change the version of the mod from 1.16.5 to 1.12.2?

Hello good afternoon,

how can I change the version of the mod from 1.16.5 to 1.12.2?
I tried to download version 2020 for 1.12.2 and 1.14.4 but when entering the project (I made a copy of the project) it says 'workspace setup failed'

How can I upgrade my mod (1.16.5) to version 1.12.2?

I duplicated the project, the main reason why I wanted to do that is so that there would be more variety in the versions lol, but I realized that it is a waste of time since everyone has to have the latest version of the game.
