MCreator can't and won't connect to the internet

I have a problem where MCreator can't and won't connect to the internet. I wonder how to fix this, I've searched online for a solution and there isn't a solution for Mac and I can't find a way to fix this problem. Everything I've found is either for Windows or outdated. I can't make forge mods using MCreator and everything else seems to work just fine.

I would export your mods to a useable mod file and uninstall then reinstall mcreator on your device!
If the problem persists then make sure that you have the mcreator addon for forge!

I agree with @Toma400, but I would like to say that if you aren't using a snapshot and you are using a mac, the issue could be that your mac is not on the most recent update or that forge is simply to heavy for your device. I would follow what Toma said and get back to us!

2021.3 will not launch on macOS at the moment, this will be fixed on the next update.

If you are using 2021.2, does your initial setup complete successfully? If not, please provide the full console log so we can further diagnose this issue.

According to this:
"Could not install Gradle distribution from 'https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.1.1-bin.zip'."

Your device cannot connect to gradle, which probably is a problem with your device or internet.

That is my guess, but if Toma400 says something else I would listen to them over me!

sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

MCreator seems to be unable to verify and establish a secure connection to Gradle servers. The SSL connection may have been altered.

You should try the following:

1. Update Java from Java Control Panel in System Preferences

2. Connect to a different internet/ethernet connection and make sure nothing is blocked by your internet service provider

3. Turn off your firewall temporarily from Preferences - Security and Privacy if you have it on

4. Add Mcreator.app to the exceptions list to your AntiVirus if you installed any

5. Turn off your VPN if any is on

You should also try updating to the latest macOS if you are on a relatively old version
