I cant export nothing

Good afternoon, I'm not able to export ANYTHING, 
I'm using an older version of the program because I want to make a mod for version 1.7.10.
 even if I wanted to do it for the most current versions, I couldn't, 
because my computer doesn't support java 8, and I can't run anything after a certain snapshot of 1.12... 
 anyway, if anyone needs a log file, let me know tell me where i can find him. 
the "symptoms" are that after naming the .jar file that I want to export, it just closes, out of nowhere
