Hello! I've been trying to make a mod with new mobs. I made a model with animations using blockbench and gecko lib plugin. But the problem is that there is no gecko lib plugin for current mcreator version. I tried making changes to mod files, but the main mod file always overwritten after build. Is there any way I can use gecko lib in this situation, or is there any other ways to make custom animations for entities?
No
using gecko lib here is a no you would need to custom code the easiest thing to do is just use the built in mcreator to do simple ones like leg or arm swings there are tutorials on here to make a fish/dolphin thing possible with this system as well good luck
I am sorry to say that you and I are both in the same boat. And there are sadly no current alternatives to animating custom mobs at this time. I know, it's frustrating! Hopefully, something else will come along the way. I've been looking through alternatives for a while. I saw tabula has some animation stuff but it is not compatible with mccreator. I also tested Geko animations from block bench and the Geko plugin for the program for 1.16.5 and it does not work in that version. I guess we will have to wait for something else to come along :(
