Topic category: Help with MCreator software
I'm on the new Mac M2, using the Mcreator DMG, and whenever I click the UI to close an element or create/load a new workspace it gets stuck on the loading wheel forever. Or when I close the preferences menu it gets stuck and never closes so I have to force quit. I'm on the latest mac version of Ventura.
From https://mcreator.net/news/94777/mcreator-20231-feature-feature-update
I updated to this new version and the problem still occurs. Every time I close/submit a popup on mac it freezes the software (not responding), so I have to force quit. https://imgur.com/a/nAGt7DF
I can't reproduce this on an M1, are you sure you have the patch?
Yep, I'm positive. I've downloaded it over a dozen times and the same issue happens every time. The version inside the software says 2023.1.10219.
I could not replicate this either. It may be some compatibility bug in Java and M2 cores as I could not replicate this either (macOS, Intel)
https://youtu.be/3RXANbdsc3k I uploaded this video for more context, and hopefully, it helps you.
Mcreator should be installed in your applications folder. Never put apps in you desktop folder.
Yes, I understand that, I did it primarily for demonstration purposes, but the same error still occurs even if I put it in my applications folder.
Can you check <user home>/.mcreator/logs if logs there contain any errors? Maybe link logs to pastebin, for example
The .mcreator folder is not being created in my home directory.
yes it is. it is simply hidden by default. Use cmd + shift + period to view it or use the go menu with command + shift + g and enter ~/.mcreator
Thank you, this is the pastebin link to the most recent log: https://pastebin.com/qTfFet7m
None seem to have any errors, they all say the same thing, then that's it.
I am having these exact same issues, the only difference is my Mac is running on an M1. This is my first time trying out the software, so I hadn't had MCreator on my system until today, so every installation I have attempted has been after the 2023.1.10219 patch. could this issue have to do with the OS? I'm running Ventura 13.2.1, maybe these issues are absent in earlier versions of MacOS. What MacOS are you all running?
Didn't see any issues in the log but here it is anyway: https://pastebin.com/8bFSV6N4
