mcreator doesn't open

i just downloaded mcreator and it won't open, even with the .bat

there is no error code that shows up

This usually means antivirus deleted some important files.

Tune antivirus and redownload and reinstall

i disabled my antivirus and reinstalled mcreator, and it still didn't open

the batch file did show an error code that i didn't see before (version is 2023.4, first snapshot)

ERROR StatusLogger Log4j2 could not find a logging implementation. Please add log4j-core to the classpath. Using SimpleLogger to log to the console...
ERROR Exception Uncaught exception in main
 java.lang.NullPointerException: inStream parameter is null

Do you use any plugins?

Also to me it still seems like there are some missing files in the install

this is my first time downloading mcreator, so i don't think i have any plugins

Check how many files are there in lib folder in the installation location

there aren't any files missing there

If you think there are all files needed (not sure what source explained how many are needed), then I am unfortunately out of ideas
