Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
Currently when we creating new block, we are forced to use own imported textures, its apply for all block models around MCreator workspace, but this is not case with sounds for entity for example, why we can use existing sounds from minecraft, but we dont have option to assign textures from minecraft: namespace?
So idea is to allow users to list, and apply all existing textures, same as its done with sounds.
I have checked EULA and how its looks, and using existing for example minecraft:block/spruce_planks for custom model dont break EULA.
And if Im wrong and its breaking EULA, sounds going under same point of EULA, but I dont think Im wrong in this case.
You can also use a program like 7-zip to extract the files from the minecraft .jar file and use the block textures in custom templates
Extracting and reimporting textures from minecraft jar is against rules, but using them as they are in original package is not.
What do you mean... If you can't export them, you can't use them. So either it is not allowed or it is
No, you dont export textures, when you launch Minecraft you have textures loaded ALWAYS, and if you add to this package your mod you just use existing textures. You never export, or import any textures. You just assign existing on from Minecraft installation.
