Topic category: Help with MCreator software
im having some issues with mcreator. I am currently teaching a class about minecraft modding and we are using mcreator to learn. There are 2 computers having some issues. Every time I close down mcreator the version I just dowloaded dissapears. An old version stays on the computer. The old version holds some projects previous students made, but It will not show the new ones made this week. Everytime the children closes mcreator and wants to open it back up again, I have to redownload it for them. Now, we are trying to open the workspace in mcreator, and it is saying that the workspace is unavailable. I have restarted the computer, deleted mcreator and redownloaded, and scanned the computers for virsuses. I dont know how to continue, and I need the kids to be able to take their new mods home. I have attempted to change the permissions, delete and redownload, and try to update the version of java. some of the computers in this class are working, and there is no common difference between the computers. I need to somehow get the work the kids did into a usb or into a file to send in an email. I don't know how to continue.
We recommend that you install using EXE. It is hard to predict what exact setup differences on these two computers cause this problem, but in generally on fresh Windows install, MCreator will correctly install and persist.
This is normal as updating MCreator keeps old projects.
If the MCreator is forcefully closed (or PC is powered off without safely closing MCreator), the recent workspaces list may not be correctly stored.
I have downloaded the file using EXE. Every time I turn off the computer for the students, I always close MCreator before turning it off.
We have never observed anything like that before, so we are quite confident it is some specific with that computer
