I tried to do something similar myself, but for some reason 3 messages are sent at once, I tried to change and do it in different ways (all of which I knew), but the result is the same (sorry that the interface is in Russian, I was too lazy to change the interface to English)
It could be because the function is called three times instead of the code doing it if that solves your problem. If not I don't see any error.
