Issue description
When you place the block to get it to put the top to the side you have to be under it, and it does not rotate it will always point one way, also when reloading the world the blocks didn't remember they was on there side and all reset pointing up.
At times it does not even listen witch way you place it and puts it's self down how it wants.
I can confirm that the rotation is not stored properly, I have tested it.
Regarding not "listening to you", this is because full rotation has the dispenser like placement logic (gets the facing of the player) and behaves like that. We plan to add more rotation types in the future that will imitate other blocks too.
The issue with rotation not being stored will be fixed in 1.8.2 patch update.
The patch will be announced in the release article today or in the upcoming days.
