I am having issues with MCreator's startup process, as when I download and install MCreator 1.8.3 for Windows 10 64bit (both installer and .zip have the problem) I get to the official startup screen in MCreator, which gets to "Setting up Forge JDK" and then stops. Doesn't crash, doesn't throw errors, just gives you the tumbling block processing symbol and runs indefinitely. Things I have attempted to remedy this issue:
- Restarting computer (multiple times)
- Uninstalling and reinstalling 1.8.3 installer (multiple times)
- Installing the .zip Archive (uninstalled when it didn't work by deleting extracted files and clearing from downloads file) (multiple times)
- Clearing browsing history and cookie cache
- Checking Forge website status to see if it's down (it's not)
- Completely clearing any files left after uninstallment
- Checking Forum page to find a fix (can't find one)
- Running both the installer and .exe files as administrator
Any advice/help?

While you wait for a better educated response, my antivirus program gave me loads of trouble with the newest version, perhaps it's a simple benign threat block you can disable?
The same,I can´t get right installing Mcreator.
I tried reset my computer, install and uninstall some programs like java, and the same with Mcreator, and some options that you already written.
I tried Mcreator using zip,and the installer.
When I use the zip,the test and export don´t work.
And if I try start Mcreator using the installer, the program open without any problem, but only gets to "Setting up Forge JDK" and then not proceed.
The console stop,don't continue installing.
I think are a bug of the update,or a antivirus problem.
I really don´t know
pd:sorry for the bad english,is not my main language.
I disabled my antivirus already, I'll see if I can do more with that.
Paste the contents of the console tab when it gets stuck here.
I had the same issue. I tried again after disabling Avast and installation went fine, so the problem might be your antivirus.
and: wrapper --gradle-version 4.4
Build info: MCreator 1.8.3, 64-bit, 7647 MB, Windows 10 - cmd, JVM 1.8.0_202, JAVA_HOME: C:\Pylo\MCreator183\jdk
C:\Pylo\MCreator183\forge>gradlew -Dorg.gradle.java.home="C:/Pylo/MCreator183/jdk" -Dorg.gradle.parallel=false -Dorg.gradle.jvmargs="-Xms512m -Xmx1500m" wrapper --gradle-version 4.4
All I could get from the Console
Woo, disabling Avast (I use it too XD) seems to have worked, it is actually doing something now. Thanks!
We have reported this issue to the Avast so hopefully, they will fix this.
