ok you sad i can use like 7zip to un zip a jar but i cant put it in mcreator or what

No, this is not possible because JAR is compiled and generated file and does not contain elements necessary for workspace to work and list them.

If you could import from Jar file then people could steal other people projects. I have an early version of my mcreater mod I want to import which is challenging. Perhaps that what people are really asking about.

unfortunately you can't open the .jar file in mcreator ... BUT! you can import the texture of the element / block of a mod in mcreator by simply replacing the folder called "texture" in your workspace with the "texture" folder in the mod (to get the mod folder with textures you have to right-click on the mod and click "extract here", 3 files and 3 folders will appear .... then go to the "assets" folder, open the folder with the name of the mod and then find the folder with the textures and then copy / move the folder

Hi, I'm sorry but why do you need to reply on a 2y old thread that I got answered on ether way Wesleybruce if you put enough time and like max 3h you can do that whit some copy past and an ide like IntelliJ. pinolo that's possible but How did you even find this and way to respond?.

I'm not asking for a response I'm just answering whit a question don't answer I will not respond probably so answer if you have time but I will probably not read it and seans I have now moved from mcreator mostly only using it to confirm some stuff/learn how to do for example overlay I mostly make my mods in java using IntelliJ so no answers and is it possible to close this thread sens I have my answer?

i have 2 mods i made myself but i lost the project folders and only have the .jar mod files is there a way to use those jar files to restore the project folders?
