im pretty new and i was wondering if there was some way to place blocks on top of the lava surface instead of placing it under the surface

im pretty new and i was wondering if there was some way to place blocks on top of the lava surface instead of placing it under the surface
That would need either custom code, or retrace to check for fluid blocks and place the block (in main hand, also remove 1 of that itemstack) on top of the lava every time the player right clicks.
