When adding a custom potion effect, you can give it a custom color, but it doesn't do anything and it the particles and potion items will all be black.

I suggest you to post this bug to the MCreator GitHub issue tracker to get it fixed.

As Atten007 suggested, please open bug report on the link provided and also include demo workspace with potion effect in it that exhibits this.
