I want to be able to add block entities to vanilla blocks

I looked around, and I know that it isn't planned to add an editor for vanilla blocks, but I would love to be able to at least enable/disable block entities for vanilla blocks. If this cannot be done, I understand, I just want this to be a feature if it is possible.
