You've missed part of one of the steps. When i said to replace "pondcreator" (my workspace name) with yours you might not of noticed there was a second "pondcreator".
in "Name" you have minecraft:hall which does not exist.
You need (for you specifically):
Target Pool: duck:desert_arena_halls
Target Name: duck:halls
I believe those two parts must refer to the same pool, and that will select at random dependign on the weight any of the four structures in the "halls" pool
And just to clarify the jigsaw blocks in the pool "halls" structures should (If they are being found by a previous piece) have their "Name" as "duck:halls"

Is the pool in the structure element "halls"? My other thought would be changing your "desert_arena" to "desertarena" in case the extra _ generated is causing an issue. If that does not work send me your workspace and I will take a look
Here is the link to my workspace. I renamed it to desertarenaboss and the problem occurs with it only generating if i manually generate it with the jigsaw block. The pool name is halls. https://www.mediafire.com/file/zomj42tmk7nycds/indesertfileisthing.zip/…
I will take a look either later or tomorrow, downloaded the needed plugins but need to update my version of Mcreator to open the workspace so I shall sort that out later on

Spent ages not finding the solution and it was driving me crazy lmao, had a fresh start today and it turned out I overlooked a very simple thing that I should of spotted instantly lol.
In the original thread: Step 2: place a jigsaw block on one side of your structure at the very edge but still inside the structure.
You have everythign set up correctly except one thing, the jigsaw block in the boss arena structure is one place off. it is not on the very edge of the structure, change it to where the redstone block is and everything will work, you may need to edit the walls/floor a bit to avoid any air gaps though.

aha no worries, I am just glad it was something small and easy to fix . It is just one more lesson/step you have learnt so take is a progress. Good luck with your future jigsaws
