I was having some difficulty creating custom skeleton mobs with proper model and animations and after some testing found a very simple solution. Simply create a custom ranged mob as usual and once done lock the code and add the edits shown in the pictures in both the renderer and entity location and save. Very easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes. https://imgur.com/a/8062XW9
Also, if you prefer having ranged human mobs that will use the proper bow animations, simply leave the 3 "PLAYER" edits as default and you will have a human mob rather than skeleton.
