Egg-born mob

I'm trying to make a Sniffer-like mob, spawn-wise. As you know the Sniffer spawns from an egg which is a block, but that's not really hard to do, I need to know how I would make it so the spawned entity will spawn as a baby, and how would I make it so the mobs drop an egg when they breed instead of a baby.
