Missing dependencies workarounds?

I've resently stumbled into a problem, i am trying to make a gui work with a procedure which is in fact not working 'cause the buttons can't handle itemstack dependencies, i think there is two ways to solve this problem: one i find a way to not use itemstacks or two there is some way for it to work with that dependencie.
