Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
I'm a server sysadmin, a modmaker who writes in Java, and someone who's never considered using MCreator, and I am begging you to keep supporting 1.20.1 on newer versions of the app.
With 1.20.1 becoming the new version of choice for modpacks, I keep getting tasked by management to fix genuinely cool-looking mods with just the most dogs*** code I've ever seen. I can't even fix it in a PR, because MCreator 2024 - the version of choice for 1.20.1 development - straight-up doesn't even have the ability to produce better code. Things like repeatedly re-getting the same capability to set another property and literally DDOSing my players with WorldData update packets on every incremental change are things that are hidden behind the most basic templates in the program, and there's literally no alternative.
I want to contribute to MCreator to solve all of their problems at the source, but any PRs I make will be upstream from the version that actually affects me. And yet more and more mods are coming out that continue to have the most dogs*** code I've ever seen, and I keep having to fix them, but they're all creating stuff on 2024.2 and I can't do anything to stop the flood of awful code I have to deal with.
Please keep supporting 1.20.1 so I can escape this hell by fixing it for all of us.
Thank you.
I'll be honest, I didn't see the "Progress of development" part at the top when I wrote this, sorry. I've just been fixing MCreator mods all frickin day and I'm so tired.
