Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
Hi everyone!
I hope you're doing well.
I’d like to kindly ask for a bit of help regarding MCreator. I want to mention upfront that I'm really not experienced with MCreator itself: I know how to model and animate mobs, but I don't yet understand how to properly set up their animations inside MCreator.
With the recent updates, it's unfortunately no longer possible to use GeckoLib the way I used to, and I’m a bit lost.
I would simply like to know, in the clearest and easiest way possible, how to set up “classic” animations for a mob: IDLE, WALK, SPRINT, and FLY.
If anyone could explain the current method, or even share procedure files, examples, or screenshots, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you in advance for your time and kindness! 🙏
You can set the walk animation in the "Animations" section on the mob by selecting the checkbox that says "control keyframes using entity walk controller". As for sprinting and flying, you can add those animations in the "Animations" tab as well, but you will have to make procedures for both of them.
The Procedures are pretty simple, it would just be:
I would probably suggest doing something like "Is [Event/target entity] on ground = false" for the flying animation.
Oh, thank you, that's clear, you're great, thank you so much! And for the idle when it's not moving, do you have any ideas? Thanks again! 🥰
