In my mod, Chaos & Calamity, I want to have tools and armor have special effects depending on the material they're made of. What I've decided do far: silver tools do extra damage to undead mobs, and the armor has a weak thorns effect against undead as well, diamond armor and tools have a chance to create a damaging shard when hitting or being hit, and sodium armor explodes if worn in water. If you have any ideas for the special effect of copper, tin, gold, iron, brass, and bronze, please share them.
you could have gold have some sort of luck effect, like some mobs have small chances to drop certain items, but if you kill them with gold tools, the chances of them dropping those items go up, or have a permanent(but small) luck effect go on while wearing gold armor
In folklore iron is used to deter & hurt fae/fairys, so maybe it could be more effective aginst mobs like Vexes, Allays, phantoms, maybe even the Ender Dragon, and mobs that seem to be inspired by folklore/mythical creatures in general.
