I restarted my computer, and when I checked the workspace for the mod I was working on, nothing was there! This is my first time making a mod, and I really dont want to loose my work. I can't figure out anything about the glitch, it has given me no errors or logs. I tried looking this up, but I could not find anything. Please help...
EDIT: in C:\Pylo\MCreator173\user\workspace I found some files named "wrk1.mcr", "wrk1.mcr.backup-0" , "wrk1.mcr.backup-1". Then it repeats, but this time wrk2. Then wrk3. I have a feeling this are pretty important, especially the ones that say "backup". but I have no idea how to open them. Am I supposed to open them?
EDIT 2: I just noticed that the plain mrk files (not the ones that say backup") are mcr files. I think I am going to load these into MCreator to see if it works. Thanks Reb!
Save your mod as a .mcr file frequently so that if you do lose your workspace, you can easily recover your mods.
that's good advice for later, but that does not help me right now. I need to know how I can recover this mod.
Follow path C:\Pylo\MCreator<mcreator version>\user\workspace
Remove the backup-0 or backup-1 extension from the backup files for the workspace, then try to load it using "import mcr file to workspace". If it still doesn't load, well, sorry. Your mod is gone.
I suggest to start using newer versions of MCreator that have much less issues with workspaces.
You're welcome!
