Ok so I dont know why this hasn't been implemented yet as it seems like a very reasonable and common thing that you would expect to have but why cant we create a copy of mod elements! Just a button that you click and the mod element you have selected gets copied and a duplicate appears allowing you to create similar objects very easily. You should be able to rename mod elements as well...
You can't do this right now due to the way the mod system is implemented, but we will consider adding such feature in MCreator 2.x.x..
