We use the latest recommended version of Minecraft forge, which happens to be 2768. Why use recommended and not latest versions of software? This is a common practise with software to avoid issues with bugs.
ok, I know there is probably good reason for this. It just annoys me slightly cause everyone who uses my mod keeps saying "update to latest 1.12.2 forge!" Which i cant do. causes a lot of incompatability issue cause many others are using the latest and not the recommended.

You can disable this warning in the workspace preferences in MCreator before exporting your mod, but it is not a good practice.
