How to add custom drops to vanilla animals

So I am making a mob that deals heavily with squids and chickens but I dont know how to make them drop special squid and chicken realted items, can someone help me or lead me to a tutorial to work this out.

You can use global trigger when entity dies and spawn gem if the entity is the one you want.
