So if I make a custom biome and set the trees to custom blocks the leaves decay. Essentially, I made a custom log and custom leaves, but if you just put the leaves on the custom tree, the leaves don't actually think of it as a tree and they just decay off the tree. Any ways I could fix this? The same happens when spawning a .schematic of a custom tree from a sapling. This doesn't really make much sense to me and I may just be overlooking some kind of settings box that I need to tick or something.

you have to put log tag on your custom log/wood
So you mean like logWood or is it something else is 1.14.4?
The format for 1.14 and above for log tags is minecraft:logs
How do you add the tag?
New element -} Tag
Name your tag "logs" (lowercase)
Namespace is Minecraft, since the tag is originally from vanilla
Type should be block
Then add your log block to the tag list and save
Where do you put this?
nvm, ignore me pls
Finally, after so long...
I did all this but it doesn't work. However my tree is a generated structure. https://imgur.com/a/s0xmnsK
please help
What should I name the tag?
What would the tag registry name be?
up the screen there is a button that's called "add common tags to workspace". there you can add common tags and add your leaves to the leaves tag and the log to the logs tag
I have the opposite problem the leaves wont decay
