Making mobs sit

  So I've been working on a dinosaur themed mod for a little while off and on, and one of the features I would like to implement is making the tameable creatures be able to sit.  For the smaller ones, such as Compy's, I was hoping to be able to have them sit on the players shoulder like parrots can in vanilla.  How would I go about this?
