Making Lead like item

Hello, I am pretty new to mccreator and I wanted to make a mod that allowed you to capture players with a rope. I created the rope item, however I am unsure on how to hook it on to other players and disable them from using their inventory. I want something like this mod https://minecraft-kidnap-mod.fandom.com/wiki/Hub, but less complex and only 2 items. A rope and a knife. so back to my original question how do I force an animation on a player to be stuck in rope without the ability to use their inventory?
