Can't change item display name

Hi.

I'm trying to change the name of items in inventory to a certain name, but they won't change. If i try to display the names in chat, it shows them fine. But the if statement does not work, it does not change the display name of items called "Dynamical Compass" to "Log Pose". I tried it without the if statement also, it still didn't work. Please help, thanks.
