Make new leaves and new biomes

Hello, I'm creating a mod to add some biomes and I have to add new trees. But all the leaves have a distances from the wood of 7 (blockstate) so natural leaves are disappearing, how can I set the relation between wood and leaves ?

And how creating a new biome like swamp so with a height under the sea level
