Is it possible to add a bit of code or something that takes a player's skin and uses it as the texture for an entity? I don't mean just one player; basically what I want to do is create an entity that spawns when a player dies, and that entity should look like the player that just died. Is this possible?
I'm actually making something very similar where you can spawn a clone of yourself. I don't exactly know the answer, I just had an idea. I doubt it will work because I think it will just use your specific skin, but it's worth a try since I haven't done it or tested it out yet. I don't know how to make it appear when the player dies, but you might be able to take it from the default Minecraft skin. To elaborate, what I mean is, when you make a skin, it replaces the default one. Maybe you could try setting the skin of the biped entity to that PNG? All you would have to do is locate it through the "Import Texture" button or whatever it's called. It's a bit of a hassle to locate it manually, so I would just copy and paste it in your downloads folder. Tell me if it works. I doubt it will because I think it will just use that picture and no one elses.
Actually don't do that. Someone posted how to do this already, I'll link to the forum: https://mcreator.net/forum/71898/how-do-i-use-players-skin-mob
