Pls devs we waited for so long, when we're finally going to have existing gui possible to edit, i know it's a risky thing to make considering the issues it would probably cause, but can't you at least make an addon for that and make it optional to download, it would greatly help me and others in making backpack slot or vanity slots like seen in terraria.
Please consider my request.

for now you could try with Overlays, but surely not the same
...NothingElse, you want editable minecraft vanilla GUI's?
if you mean mcreator guis then there is posibility to add images to guis while editing them.
