How to stop crafting from consuming buckets

so im trying to craft new food recipes like icecream and other stuff that requires milk buckets, but when crafting it just eats the entire bucket essentially making it cost 3 iron to make food which just ruins everything, how do i make it ON BEDROCK that i get the bucket back when crafting. (ps. its not just milk buckets, itd be useful to be able to ise water and lava to.)
