How to turn blocks into string data / what is "Format number: __ as __"

So I have a camera that, if right-clicked, sees a block and tells you what that block is. There is a small problem, it's giving more details than I wanted. I just want it to say "Dirt" or "Grass block". instead, it says things like "{minecraft:dirt}" and "{minecraft:grass_block}[snowy=false], which doesn't look very finished-mod like. I was thinking maybe "Format number: __ as __" would do something, but I don't know how it works.

If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
