Wallpaper Mod

  Hello!  I am currently working on a mod, and one of the features I wish to have is wallpapers.  The premise of the feature is that there's specific 'wallpapers' and you right click the side of the block you want it to apply to.  So you can have different textures on different sides of the block.  I made my own 'plaster block' as a base block for the paper to attach to.  However, at the moment, it's just a normal block with a new texture.  How would I go about making this work?  Also would connected textures work with the wallpapers?  If so, how?  I'm using the latest version of MCreator for 1.16.5.  I appreciate any and all answers!  Thank you in advance!
