Cannot place blocks on Logs with Stripped Variant

I'm making a mod to add mangrove wood to my 1.17.1 save. The stripped log procedure template provided in mcreator still has the issue of stopping you from being able to place anything on the custom log without crouching. I can't find a definitive solution for this. Any help would be much appreciated.
