Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
I think a feature that would REALLY improve the freedom with MCreator is the option to add A Texture Variation Option, being able to specify multiple Texture Layouts For The Same block.
And for mobs, simply Importing Multiple Textures in the mob creation screen, i feel like making multiple mobs just to have one creature with different skins makes mods really odd looking.
maybe also being able to specify mob and block textures based on their placement location would be nice?
i would really appreciate the multiple mob textures more so though, as it would be nice to make biome dependent skins / variation within the same biome
about the connected textures, i would really like to be able to make blocks that change texture when placed next to eachother, similar to the chisel mod.
I entirely agree. People have been asking for this for a while, myself included, quite specifically to add the ability to have multiple entity textures.
There would be so much creative freedom if people were able to add both texture variations AND overlays (like how horses have different base colors and different patterns), and make them biome-based. I see a lot of people complain about Mcreator mods on other forums not adding value. But this would enable so much creative freedom I honestly think we'd see an explosion of really good, creative, and visually-appealing variety mods.
yep i totally agree, i cant believe that mcreator is 11 years old and it still lacks a TON of basic customizations, i knew the software was limited but i didnt know it would be THAT limited
First of all there are Mods you can use for that!
If you know how to make a plugin you could implement it yourself for MCreator.
There are Mods for Forge and Fabric:
JSON Entity Models (JEMs) for Forge for example
